On the day, the crew goes up through the manhole first. They look for the nest, fresh droppings, urine stains on the ceiling and tracks in the insulation dust. Then they walk the roof line outside to find the main way in. On coastal homes this is often a lifted ridge cap, a cracked eave sheet, a gap where the gutter meets the tiles or the join where a patio roof was added.
